DAY 1 – MALTA - AMSTERDAM Meet the tour manager at Malta International Airport for your flight to Amsterdam. Upon arrival proceed for city tour. Drive past the Olympic Stadium, the RAI Convention Centre and the Southern Boulevard, the new business centre of Amsterdamwith theWorld Trade Centre and the Campus of the Free University. We will continue to the cultural heart of the city the Museum Square area with the National Art Gallery (Rijksmuseum), the Vincent van Gogh Museum and Municipal Museum for the Modern Art, as well as Mocro Museum. Then onwards to the city centre by driving past the Heineken Brewery, the river Amstel and the synagogues. Maybe a stop at the Diamond factory of Gassan to learn about the art of cutting diamonds. After this we will drive past the harbour area with its impressive Passengers Terminal, the Central Station (built in the late 1800’s), the Amsterdam Tower and the Eye Film Museum. We will stop for some free time nearby the canals for coffee/lunch. You may also like to board a canal boat for a cruise through the canals of Amsterdam. Transfer to your 3* Hotel Levell for check in. DAY 2 – SHOPPING - EUROVISION SONG CONTEST SEMI FINAL Breakfast and today you can spend some time shopping where you can choose between in the centre of town the Damrak and Rokin area with its luxury department store The Bijenkorf or you may also like to walk on through the famous Kalverstraat towards the flowermarket situated on Singel canal. If you are in for upmarket stores, more expensive shops are to be found in the P.C. Hooftstraat near the museum area. The bus will make some stops at the various areas and you will be advised where the bus will be back for the pick up for transfer to the hotel. Late afternoon transfer to Rotterdam Ahoy Complex for the Eurovision Semi Final. (entrance tickets not included) DAY 3 – KEUKENHOF - THE HAGUE - SCHEVENINGEN After breakfast drive to Keukenhof. In 1949 a group of 20 leading flower bulb growers and exporters came up with the plan to use the estate to exhibit spring-flowering bulbs, signaling the birth of Keukenhof as a spring park. The park opened its gates to the public in 1950 and was an instant success, with 236,000 visitors in the first year alone. 2020 will be the 71th edition of Keukenhof, with A World Of Colours as its theme. DAY 4 – AMSTERDAM Breakfast and day at leisure per shopping and personal sight-seeing. DAY 5 – VOLENDAM - BEEMSTER POLDER – ZAANSE SCHANS Today after breakfast transfer to Volendam which is a popular tourist attraction in the Netherlands, well known for its old fishing boats and the traditional clothing still worn by some residents. The women’s costume of Volendam, with its high, pointed bonnet, is one of the most recognizable of the Dutch traditional costumes, and is often featured on tourist postcards and posters (although there are believed to be fewer than 50 women now wearing the costume as part of their daily lives, most of them elderly). There is a regular ferry connection to Marken, a peninsula close by. Volendam also features a small museum aboutitshistoryandclothingstyle,andvisitors can have their pictures taken in traditional Dutch costumes. Drive to Beemster Polder, the first so-called polder in the Netherlands that was reclaimed from a lake, the water being extracted from the lake by windmills. The Beemster Polder was dried during the period 1609 through 1612. It has preserved intact its well-ordered landscape of fields, roads, canals, dykes and settlements, laid out in accordance with classical and Renaissance planning principles. A grid of canals parallels the grid of roads in the Beemster. The grids are offset the larger feeder canals are offset by approximately one kilometer from the larger roads. The Beemster was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1999. Continue to Zaanse Schans, a popular tourist attractions of the Netherlands and an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH). The Zaanse Schans houses seven museums: the Weavers House, the Cooperage, the Jisper House, Zaan Time Museum, Albert Heijn Museum Shop and the Bakery Museum. The whole neighbourhood is a popular tourist attraction.
