9 DAYS

13 TH - 22 TH SEPTEMBER

Over 15 decks, the Explorer of the Seas is home to 15 lounges, clubs, and bars, 10 pools and whirlpools, and impressive activities at sea — such as rock climbing, ice skating, a basketball court, testing the Flow Rider surf simulator, and playing mini golf. At night the Royal Promenade livens up with duty-free shopping, parades, and dancing. Want to experience a three-story dining

room? Or if you’re staying in an interior stateroom, how about a real-time, virtual projected balcony view? You can see both on the Explorer of the Seas. On the other end of the spectrum, suites offer concierge service and baby grand pianos. When you’re looking for downtime, you can have your choice of three pools and six whirlpools on the Explorer of the Seas. Perhaps you’d rather take a tai chi or yoga class. If you’re hungry, choose from a steakhouse, the dining room, Italian or Japanese cuisine, and more.

Bergen

The first stop on this breathtaking cruise is Bergen, which is Norway’s second largest city, and lies clambering up the mountain sides, overlooking the sea, embracing you. You can roam through living history in this modern city, before continuing on to explore the wildest and loveliest fjords of Norway.

On a Norwegian scale, Bergen is a large city, but one with a small-town charm and atmosphere. Its passionately patriotic inhabitants are proud of their many-sided city and its history and cultural traditions. Many are only happy to direct visitors to their favourite local attraction, coffee-shop or restaurant.

Flåm

FJORDS CRUISE ON THE EXPLORER OF THE SEAS

Flam sits in a truly spectacular setting beside Sognefjord. The main attraction here is the stunning mountain railway that creeps up into the surrounding peaks and offers truly eye-popping panoramas. Unfortunately it’s far from a well-

kept secret, and on the busiest summer days the tiny village can find itself swamped by several thousand visitors – it’s probably best left for the quieter seasons of spring and autumn.

Geiranger Geiranger is surrounded by steep mountains on either side of the fjord, which has made it one of the most visited tourist destination in Norway. Along the side of the fjord, there are a number of now abandoned farms. The most commonly visited among these are Skageflå, Knivsflå and Blomberg. Skageflå may be reached by foot from Geiranger, while the others can only be reached from the fjord.

Alesund

Alesund is surrounded by water, which unsurprisingly results in the town being a major fishing harbour. The city centre has a very unique Art Nouveau style, following a fire that passed through in the first years of

the 20th century and resulted in the entire town being rebuilt to the then current architectural style. This unique mix of intriguing architecture and the dramatic landscape surrounded by water, this town has quickly become a traveller’s favourite for those visiting and touring Norway.

Stavanger

Stavanger`s old centre has some of the most beautiful and best-preserved wooden buildings anywhere in Norway, many dating back to the 18th century. It’s all very pretty, and in summer the waterfront comes alive in the best port-town style and while much of the outskirts are modern, you won’t find too many skyscrapers.

There’s a reason this coastal town has been twinned with Houston and Aberdeen: it’s sometimes known as Norway’s ‘Oil City’

FJORDS CRUISE ON THE EXPLORER OF THE SEAS

for its importance in oil exploration in the North Sea since the 1970s.

London Breakfast and transfer from Southampton`s Cruise Terminal to London for city tour. Relax as you travel around central London to see the sights. Pass through Parliament Square, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey , Buckingham Palace, Nelson’s Column at Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and The Tower Bridge. Transfer to Airport for your flight to Malta.
