DAY 6: XI’AN Today is all about Xi’an’s rich history. After breakfast we begin with a visit to the awe-inspiring Terra-Cotta Warriors, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This vast army of life-sized clay soldiers, horses, and chariots was buried over 2,000 years ago to protect China’s first emperor in the afterlife. Each figure is unique, showcasing an incredible level of craftsmanship and detail, making this one of the most remarkable archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. In the afternoon, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the serene grounds of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This ancient Buddhist site, originally built in the 7th century, is a significant symbol of Xi’an’s cultural heritage and a peaceful spot for reflection. DAY 7: XI’AN – GUILIN Breakfast and this morning, you’ll take a flight to Guilin, a city renowned for its stunning natural landscapes. Upon arrival, begin your exploration with a visit to the remarkable Reed Flute Cave. This impressive limestone cave is adorned with striking stalactites, stalagmites, and rock formations, all illuminated in a kaleidoscope of colours, creating a surreal and magical atmosphere. It’s often referred to as the “Palace of Natural Art” due to its incredible beauty. Next, visit the iconic Elephant Trunk Hill, a famous natural landmark shaped like an elephant drinking from the Li River, and a symbol of Guilin’s unique karst scenery. The Sun and Moon Pagodas are twin pagodas located in Guilin. Originally built during the Tang dynasty in the city moat, they were reconstructed in 2001 as the centerpiece of the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas Cultural Park, which highlights the unity of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. The Moon Pagoda sits on an island in Shan Lake, while the Sun Pagoda stands in the lake itself. The Sun Pagoda has an octagonal base, is faced with bronze, rises nine stories, and reaches 41 meters, making it the tallest bronze
pagoda in the world and one of the few pagodas equipped with an elevator. The Moon Pagoda, with an octagonal base, glazed tile façade, seven stories, and a height of 35 meters, complements its twin beautifully. You’ll then retire to the luxurious 5* Shangri-La Hotel. DAY 8: GUILIN – YANGSHUO – GUILIN After breakfast, visit the Guilin Tea Research Institute to experience traditional tea picking in the lush tea gardens. Guided by local experts, visitors can learn how to select the finest tea leaves and understand the delicate process behind producing high-quality Chinese tea. Surrounded by rolling green hills and aromatic tea plantations, this hands-on experience offers insight into the region’s rich tea culture and heritage. It is a perfect opportunity to connect with nature, enjoy the serene landscape, and gain a deeper appreciation for one of China’s most treasured beverages. Located along the picturesque Li River, Xingping Ancient Town is renowned for its well-preserved historic buildings and stunning karst landscapes. Walking along its slate-paved streets, visitors can experience the town’s rich cultural heritage, traditional architecture, and local lifestyle. Compared with the bustling West Street in nearby Yangshuo, Xingping offers a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere. Once a busy county town, it now presents itself as a quaint village, quietly reflecting over 1,700 years of history and the vicissitudes of time. Board a traditional Bamboo Raft from Xingping to explore the most scenic stretch of the Li River. Drift along calm waters surrounded by dramatic karst peaks, riverside villages, and mirror-like reflections. Along the way, you can admire stone bridges, small docks, and traditional riverside houses that showcase local life. The tranquil ride offers a chance to experience the harmony of nature and culture, with fresh river breezes
and peaceful surroundings.
Photographers and artists will be captivated by the misty mountains, changing light, and serene vistas. This gentle yet unforgettable journey immerses visitors in the quintessential beauty of Guilin, making it a must-do activity for anyone seeking a relaxing and picturesque adventure through one of China’s most celebrated landscapes. Participate in a traditional Chinese fan painting lesson, a hands-on cultural activity that allows you to create your own artistic design on a delicate folding fan. Guided by skilled instructors, you can learn painting techniques, explore Chinese motifs, and express your creativity. Set against the serene landscape of this area, this experience combines art, culture, and nature, offering a memorable and interactive way to connect with traditional Chinese heritage. Upon arriving in Yangshuo, explore the vibrant West Street, a lively hub filled with markets, shops, and cafes. Known for its blend of traditional and modern culture, West Street is a fascinating place to soak in the local atmosphere. DAY 9: GUILIN – CHONGQING – YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE Breakfast and proceed to board a high-speed train to Chongqing, a dynamic city known as the gateway to the Yangtze River. Visit Chongqing Zoo which is one of the city’s most popular attractions and a favorite leisure spot for locals. Ranked alongside the Chengdu and Beijing zoos as one of the top places to see Giant Pandas, it is home to several rare species, including the Giant Panda and the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey. Inside the zoo, visitors can observe more than twenty lively pandas enjoying their natural behaviors—munching on bamboo, tumbling around, and playfully interacting with one another. One of the highlights is watching four pandas sitting together, happily sharing fruit—a heartwarming scene that delights visitors of all ages.
