DAY 13 SAMARKAND – SHAKHRISABZ

After breakfast, depart for Shakhrisabz, traveling by car through picturesque mountain landscapes on a scenic route of approximately 92 km (about 2 hours). The city’s name, translated from Persian as “Green City,” reflects its lush surroundings and long‑standing reputation as a place of gardens and beauty. Shakhrisabz is also historically significant as the birthplace of Amir Timur (Tamerlane), one of the most influential conquerors in Central Asian history. Your sightseeing program includes the impressive ruins of the Ak Sarai Palace, once Timur’s grand summer residence and a symbol of his vast empire. Continue to the Dorus‑Tilovat complex, an important religious and educational center of the 14th century, followed by the Dorus‑Saodat complex, built as a dynastic mausoleum for Timur’s family and renowned for its solemn architectural beauty.
