the flavours of its life is to walk.
1591 and features stained glass by artists such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The town is home to the world’s first Burns Club, with many of the founding members having known Robert Burns himself. Burns’ love Mary Campbell (Highland Mary) died in the town and is buried in Gree nock Cemetery. LERWICK the capital of Shetland, is a vibrant base from which to explore the island. A quirky little place, built directly on the waterfront with waves crashing directly against some of the building. Built on the herring trade and mod ernised by the oil trade, Lerwick is Shetland’s only real town, home to a third of the islands’ population. It has a solidly maritime feel, with aquiline oil boats competing for space in the su perb natural harbour with the dwindling fishing fleet. Wandering along atmospheric Commercial St is a delight, and the excellent Shetland Muse um provides cultural background. INVERNESS has a great location astride the Riv er Ness at the northern end of the Great Glen. The main attraction is a leisurely stroll along the river to the Ness Islands. Planted with mature Scots pine, fir, beech and sycamore, and linked to the river banks and each other by elegant Victorian footbridges, the islands make an appealing picnic spot. They’re a 20-minute walk south of the castle – head upstream on either side of the river (the start of the Great Glen Way) and return on the opposite bank. DAY 13 - AMSTERDAM – MALTA Breakfast and transfer to Airport for your flight to Malta.
DAY 1 – MALTA – AMSTERDAM Meet the Tour Manager at Malta International Airport for your flight to Amsterdam. Upon arrival transfer to Amsterdam cruise terminal for embarkation of your cruise on board the Celebrity Apex. DAY 2 /12 CRUISE In spring 2020, Celebrity Cruises expanded its fleet with the Celebrity Apex. The second ship of the luxurious and currently newest Edge class exceeds expectations. The outward-facing design convinces with a special color selection and the visionary rooms. On board you can enjoy unique views from the world’s first Magic Carpet, a tennis court-sized platform that can be moved over 13 decks. Depending on which deck the magic carpet is on, it can serve as an extension of the restaurant, the pool area or the embarkation station. During the day as well as in the evening, the Rooftop Garden is a hotspot on board. With a length of 306 meters, the ship offers space for 2,910 passengers. The ship was built at the STX shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France. Guests can expect 5-star comfort, excel lent service and excellent cuisine. DORSET offers a checklist of charms. Its shoreline is one of Britain’s best and boasts the Jurassic Coast – a World Heritage Site flecked with sea-carved bays, crumbly cliffs and beach es loaded with fossilised souvenirs. Swimming, kayaking and hiking here are memorable indeed. Inland, Thomas Hardy’s lyrical landscape serves up vast Iron Age hill forts, rude chalk figures, fairy-tale castles and must-see stately homes. CORK is Ireland`s third city (after Dublin and Belfast) and has always been an important seaport. It began on an island in the swampy es tuary of the River Lee and gradually climbed up the steep banks on either side. Today the river flows through Cork city in two main channels, so that you find yourself constantly crossing bridges. The best way to see the city and sample PORTS OF CALL
WATERFORD harbours seaside settlements along its sandy coastline, from pretty fishing villages to surf meccas. You’ll also find historic churches, cathedrals and castles, a warren of walking trails in the beautiful Nire Valley, concealed among the Comeragh and Monavul lagh Mountains, and lively Waterford city, with its maze of medieval lanes and well-preserved Georgian architecture. LIVERPOOL is a city with unique attractions, exciting events, world class sport offerings, unrivalled musical heritage and famously warm welcomes. Liverpool is the ideal destination to visit and explore. With the largest collection of museums and galleries anywhere outside of the Capital, Liverpool’s culture and heritage are at the very heart of the city. You’ll always find a fantastic selection of things to do, places to explore and exciting events. BELFAST is in many ways a brand-new city. The old shipyards on the Lagan continue to give way to the luxury apartments of the Titanic Quarter, whose centrepiece – the stunning, star-shaped edifice housing the Titanic Belfast centre, covering the ill-fated liner’s construction here has become the city’s number-one tourist draw; it was even named the world’s leading tourist attraction at the 2016 World Travel Awards. New venues keep popping up – already this decade historic Crumlin Road Gaol and SS Nomadic opened to the public. They all add to a list of attractions that includes beautifully restored Victorian architecture, a glittering waterfront lined with modern art, a fantastic and fast-ex panding foodie scene and music-filled pubs. GREENOCK is a historic industrial town by the Firth of Clyde, 25 miles west of Glasgow. Much of the west end of Greenock retains its impres sive Victorian buildings, not least the 245-foot Victoria Tower which remains incomplete. Attractions include McLean Museum and Art Gallery and the Old West Kirk, which dates from
