ROCS Guided Holidays - 8-Day Family Adventures In Cyprus
DAY 2 PAPHOS
Breakfast and today discover the impressive underground Tombs of the Kings, carved out of solid rock and decorated with Doric pillars. You then cross the busy St Paul’s Avenue to the area known as St Paul’s Pillar. Tradition has it that this is where the apostle was tied and flogged before converting the Roman governor to Christianity. Admire the mosaics in the Archaeological Park dating back to the 2nd century. The mosaics of Nea Paphos grouped into three houses: Dionysos, Theseus and Aion. They are considered the finest in the Eastern Mediterranean. Free time at the fishing harbour near the medieval fort. Monasteries and churches may be visited only in proper attire, that is no bare shoulder and low-cut dresses and shorts.
