ROCS Guided Holidays - Breathtaking Georgia 2026
DAY 4 KUTAISI - THE AGRICULTURAL MARKET - PROMETHEUS GROTTO - AKHALTSIKHE In the morning after breakfast, we’ll visit the vibrant market in Kutaisi, where locals sell fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, and fish daily. Exploring this market offers an authentic glimpse into local life. Next, we’ll head to the Prometheus Cave, one of Georgia’s natural wonders. The cave tour takes about an hour, during which we’ll explore the stunning Halls of the Argonauts, Colchis, Medea, Love, Prometheus, and Iberia. On our way to Akhaltsikhe, we’ll stop in the village of Shrosha, famous for its long-standing tradition of pottery-making. While the local economy is still largely based on pottery sales, villagers face uncertainty as a new highway will bypass the village, and the proposed new market will be located further away. We’ll continue our journey south through Georgia’s diverse landscapes. Here, the humid forests give way to rocky terrain, leading us to the breathtaking volcanic plateau of Javakheti.
