DAY 4: EAST MADEIRA After breakfast, we head to the eastern side of Madeira to explore some of the island’s most iconic sights. Our journey begins with a scenic drive up to Poiso, followed by a visit to Pico do Arieiro, rising 1,818 metres above sea level and standing as one of Madeira’s highest peaks. From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views stretching across much of the island. We then continue to Ribeiro Frio, renowned for its gardens featuring a variety of endemic plants—a true natural haven. From there, we travel on to São Roque do Faial, an area noted for its rich agricultural diversity and considered one of the most fascinating regions on the island. Our next stop is Santana, celebrated for its traditional thatched houses, an enduring symbol of Madeiran architecture. During the visit, you’ll discover the local traditions and the history that shapes this picturesque village. We’ll take a break for lunch at a local restaurant. DAY 5: LEVADA DAS 25 MONTES After breakfast, we prepare for the Levada das 25 Fontes walk, which begins at Estrada Regional No. 105 in Rabaçal and is considered one of the most popular trails among both tourists and locals. This medium‑difficulty path leads visitors to unique viewpoints and areas of great interest, setting it apart from the neighboring trail. Surrounded by stunning natural scenery, the route offers the chance to admire the Lagoon of the 25 Fontes, fed by waters descending from Paul da Serra and emerging through 25 individual springs—an impressive and memorable sight. Along the way, you’ll also enjoy remarkable landscapes, including sweeping views over the Ribeira da Janela valley. The lush Laurisilva forest, with its vibrant green tones, is a signature feature of this region. Upon reaching the Lagoon of the 25 Fontes, take some time to appreciate the peaceful setting and relax before returning along the same path. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed midway through the outing.
