It’s a perfect activity for families, blending excitement with the serenity of the ocean. The catamaran departs from Funchal Marina, Pier 8, and heads toward the Garajau Partial Natural Reserve. From there, participants will kayak to Garajau Beach, with time permitting the possibility for a refreshing swim or a snorkelling break. DAY 9: MONTE & BOTANICAL GARDEN The day begins with a scenic journey to Monte, a charming hillside village offering breathtaking views over Funchal. Here, you’ll visit the Church of Our Lady of Monte, an 18th‑century landmark and Madeira’s most important pilgrimage site. You’ll then experience one of Madeira’s most iconic attractions: the traditional Toboggan Ride, gliding down the streets in handcrafted wicker sledges.

We’ll pause for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Botanical Garden—one of the region’s most enchanting highlights. Spanning 80,000 m2, the garden features an impressive variety of plant species, along with a Natural History Museum, all overlooking the magnificent panorama of the city. In the evening, we head to one of Madeira’s most renowned restaurants to savour traditional cuisine and enjoy a vibrant dance performance known as Bailinho da Madeira. Your meal will include local favourites such as bolo do caco, espetada (beef cooked over an open fire and served on a skewer), and milho frito (fried corn similar to polenta). At the end of dinner, you’ll also have the chance to taste a traditional Madeiran drink. The night concludes with a return to your hotel, where you can admire the spectacular view of Funchal illuminated under the night sky. DAY 10: MADEIRA - MALTA After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and make our way to the airport for our return flight to Malta, carrying unforgettable memories of Madeira with us.
