Santorini is mentioned at themost popular travel guides in the world, as a unique summer experience. It is visited by thousands of tourists and Greeks in the summer. Fira, the capital of Santorini island, is perched on a clifftop and is a place where tourists flock in high numbers. Fira offers a panoramic view of the submerged volcano. The houses are painted in white with sunbathed verandas and blue-domed churches.
