DAY 3 ETERNAL ROME CITY TOUR

After breakfast, we set out to explore the beautiful city of Rome. Our first stop is Janiculum Hill , where we take in breathtaking panoramic views of the historic centre. We then visit San Paolo Fuori le Mura (St. Paul Outside the Walls), one of the four Major Papal Basilicas, and the second largest after St. Peter’s. Built on the burial site of St. Paul the Apostle, this grand church boasts enormous marble columns and magnificent mosaics. Next, we make a photo stop at the world famous Colosseum , the site of thousands of gladiatorial battles, contests between men and wild animals, and even mock naval battles. A short drive takes us to Piazza Navona , where we admire the beautiful fountains. From there, we take a short walk to the Pantheon , a 2,000-year-old Roman temple. Along the way, we pass Villa Madama , a 16th century Roman villa, now the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Our next stop is the Trevi Fountain , the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous in the world. Tradition says that tossing a coin into the fountain ensures a return to Rome.
