When to visit Japan has a temperate climate and four distinct seasons, with spring and autumn being the most comfortable and picturesque times to visit. Skiing season is mid-December through to early April. Currency: Japanese Yen (JPY). Although major credit cards are accepted in cities, cash is king in Japan. Large denomination notes are entirely acceptable. Languages: Japanese is the official language but English is spoken in most hotels. Japan Highlights 7 days/6 nights – Coach and bullet train tour
Day 5: Nagoya – Kyoto Head towards Kyoto by the Nozomi train, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure exploring the fascinating sites of this city. Day 6: Kyoto – Osaka (42 kilometres) In the morning transfer to Osaka by road. Take an afternoon walking tour of the city to enjoy all the sites. Day 7: Osaka Enjoy the day at leisure and later transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
This tour takes you through some of the iconic sights of the country – from Tokyo, the modern high-tech capital city, to the natural beauty of Mount Fuji and from Hakone to Nagoya and Kyoto, the cultural heart of Japan and onto Osaka, the gateway to the Kansai region of Japan. Day 1: Tokyo On arrival transfer to your hotel. Day 2: Tokyo Embark on a half-day city tour by visiting the Tokyo Tower, the Imperial Palace Plaza, the Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise Shopping Arcade, after which you drive through Ueno. Day 3: Tokyo – Mount Fuji – Hakone (82 kilometres) Depart Tokyo and drive through the countryside, halfway up to Mount Fuji. Enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Ashi and a cable car ride to Mount Komagatake. The tour will end at Hakone, after which you make your own way to your hotel. Day 4: Hakone – Nagoya Enjoy a high speed Hikari train ride to Nagoya. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to the hotel by walk. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
