Essential Santiago and the Grape Orchards 5 days/4 nights – Semi-private tour Day 1: Santiago On arrival at Santiago Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Day 2: Santiago Join a Santiago city tour. Visit the main square, cathedral, Government Palace, and a drive to Santa Lucia hill for panoramic views over the city. The afternoon is free for you to stroll the vibrant neighbourhoods – each with its unique flavour and tone buzzing with restaurants, art galleries, various museums, parks and miniature shopping arcades. Day 3: Santiago Enjoy the grape orchards in the central valleys. Sample first-hand the delightful new world Chilean local beverages before returning to Santiago. The rest of the day is free. Day 4: Valparaiso Discover neighbouring UNESCO world city of Valparaiso. Explore the colourful cliff-top residences and striking funicular railways of the coastal town Valparaiso. The towns thriving arts scene, and the beaches of Vina del Mar are added attractions. Day 5: Santiago After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport. Magic of Atacama 4 days/3 nights – Semi-private tour We recommend you stay a few nights in Santiago before this tour. Day 1: San Pedro and Moon Valley On arrival at Calama Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, join a tour to discover the other worldly surroundings of the Moon Valley – whose impressive geology has created an unusual landscape of diverse shapes and colours, giant dunes and beautiful salt crystals. Day 2: Toconao and Atacama Salt Lake Visit colourful San Pedro and the small oasis town of Toconao, its fine buildings are carved from volcanic stone. You then travel to the enormous shimmering expanse of the Atacama Salt Lake, one of the most spectacular and dramatic landscapes in Chile, and see flamingos and migratory birds gather at the lagoons. Day 3: El Tatio Geysers and Machuca Leave before dawn and travel to the Altiplano to watch the spectacular sunrise and steam vent at the El Tatio Geysers, one of the highest geothermal fields in the world at 4,300 metres. Day 4: San Pedro de Atacama Transfer to Calama Airport for your flight. Charming Lakes and Volcanoes 4 days/3 nights – Semi-private tour We recommend you stay a few nights in Santiago before this tour. Day 1: Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas Arrive at Puerto Montt Airport and transfer to the scenic lakeside town of Puerto Varas. Stroll along the shore of Lake Llanquihue and admire the stunning Calbuco Volcano and Osorno with its snow-capped cone rising to 2,652 metres. Day 2: Peulla and Petrohué Travel along the shores of Lake Llanquihue to Petrohué in the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. Board a catamaran to sail across the beautiful Lake Todos los Santos to Peulla. Take in the scenic beauty of the region and if time allows, walk to the nearby waterfalls. Day 3: Chiloé Island Cross the Chacao Channel from Pargua to reach Chiloé Island. Here you will visit the famous traditional market in Ancud as well as the local museum and the San Antonio Fortress. Depart by zodiac to Islotes Puñihul (Nov-Mar only) to see the only nesting grounds in the world where Humboldt and Magellan penguins breed side by side. Day 4: Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt Take a brief city tour of Puerto Montt en route to the airport for your onward journey.
