Welcome to Germany

Lose yourself in the Black Forest landscape of fantastic woodlands, lush meadows, quaint farmhouses and cascading streams and expect to run into characters straight off the pages of a Brothers Grimm cautionary fairytale.
The Euro powerhouse of Germany makes plenty of grand natural and architectural statements but is sprinkled throughout its great land with provincial charms. Expect each monumental city of culture, vast ancient forest, and alpine monolith to be offset by a beguiling castle, peaceful riverside or curious tradition.
Experiences From North Sea sand dunes to its epic green interior and the sublime splendour of its southern Alps, Germany’s landscape revels in the same diversity that’s shared by its major cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Dusseldorf. The proliferation of natural thermal waters has encouraged a long German tradition of spas and health resorts in stunning locations. Check yourself into one of the country’s 350 approved wellness resorts or enjoy a stay at one of the many countryside retreats of Baden Baden, Garmisch- Partenkirchen or Berchtesgaden.
Until quite recently, Berlin was a city divided by a wall between East and West. Now it revels as a free-spirited beacon of unification, as well as being one of Europe’s edgiest centres of culture, with many former Eastern Bloc buildings being transformed into uber-cool restaurants, galleries and nightclubs. Almost impossibly romantic in its mountaintop setting, Schloss Neuschwanstein has long been the inspiration for every screen depiction of the ‘fairy-tale’ castle, from Disney onwards. Take a cruise down the Rhine, drifting past medieval villages, historic castles and sensational vistas.
