This fascinating tour takes you through some of Cambodia’s astonishing sites. It starts in the capital city of Phnom Penh with its graceful architectural heritage spots, continues on to Siem Reap where the magnificent Angkor Wat is found, and ends in the pristine beaches of the south. Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrive in Phnom Penh and transfer to your hotel. Day 2: Phnom Penh After breakfast, visit the Royal Palace, which serves as the residence of the King and is a symbol of the Kingdom. Then head to the Silver Pagoda, and continue to the National Museum housing Khmer art and Angkorian pieces. At noon, journey to the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields to understand the profound history of the nation. Day 3: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap Start today with a visit to Champey Academy of Arts to enjoy a traditional performance, followed by a visit to the Ounalom Pagoda, reputedly the oldest Buddhist foundation in the city. Later, hop on a Cyclo, an original Phnom Penh means of transportation, to Wat Phnom. Transfer to Phnom Penh Airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Day 4: Siem Reap: Angkor Wat In the morning, see the world’s largest temple, Angkor Wat, then head to Ta Prohm temple which has been left in its natural state since its ‘re-discovery’ by French explorers. Later, continue to the monumental magnificence of Angkor Thom, as well as Bayon temple, Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Day 5: Siem Reap Early morning, take a boat trip to the floating village at Kampong Khleang, then carry on to the Old Market ‘Phsar Chas’ offering souvenirs and curios. Continue to Artisans Angkor, which was created to help young rural people find work and later, pass by the Theam’s House, a Cambodian artist and designer whose drawings are inspired by Khmer and contemporary international design before enjoying dinner with a Khmer traditional dance show. Day 6: Siem Reap – Sihanoukville Transfer to Siem Reap Airport for your flight to Sihanoukville. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and the afternoon is at your leisure.
