ROCS Bespoke Journeys - Grand East Coast Tour Of Australia And New Zealand
Today we start with the Moonlit Sanctuary (admission ticket included) Melbourne’s award-winning wildlife park and get a up close look at Australia’s amazing animals. Explore our bush-land while feeding kangaroos and wallabies, petting friendly koalas and enjoying encounters with wombats, reptiles, dingoes and many other animals including endangered species. More than 70 Australian species are waiting to meet you. Proceed to Cowes which is the heart of Phillip Island, a resort-style town flush with eateries. Like all towns on the island, it manages to retain a relaxed vibe and down-to-earthedness. While many make the pilgrimage to Phillip Island for a glimpse of those sweet, furry little penguins, Cowes uncovers new ways to experience the beguiling island life. A fantastic stroll along a boardwalk to The Nobbies and Seal Rocks. The scenery is incredible, a perfect blend of greenery and ocean with the black rock formations to remind you of the volcanic history the island is set upon. The Nobbies is an incredibly important site for Australia’s largest colony of Fur Seals. These cobblestone rocks that jut out of the water are a dramatic strip of land attached to the Phillip Island coastline. Watch little penguins dash home across the sand at dusk at Phillip Island’ world-famous Penguin Parade. The main penguin viewing area provides a 180-degree elevated platform to the coast. As these penguins spend the majority of their day in the ocean hunting for food, they only swim up to rest for the night. Therefore, as the sun sets and the penguins come home from a long day of fishing, the herd will shuffle their way up the beach to their burrows. The penguin parade platform is nestled right along the sandy shore, promising guests a front row seat the penguins waddle up the sand. DAY 4 MELBOURNE – PHILLIP ISLAND & PENGUIN PARADE
