ROCS Bespoke Journeys - Grand East Coast Tour Of Australia And New Zealand
DAY 8 SYDNEY
Today we will tour this magnificent city known to be one of the most beautiful and picturesque cities of the world. We will see The Rocks; the first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area’s cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi” or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. Tour of the famous Opera House and then visit The Royal Botanic Gardens and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair which is a Sydney landmark. The chair was carved out of a sandstone rock ledge by convicts in 1810. Specially commissioned by Governor Macquarie for his wife Elizabeth who was known to love the area this is one of the best vantage points to view the sights of Sydney Harbour. Free time at Darling Harbour which is a buzzing waterside precinct that’s just moments from the centre of Sydney, but still retains its small, intimate feel. This family-friendly destination has enough to keep children entertained all day, from fascinating museums to thrilling wildlife and delicious dining options. Barangaroo is Sydney’s newest and buzziest waterside precinct. An ambitious urban renewal project transformed this former container terminal into a hub boasting beautiful parkland, fantastic shopping, delicious restaurants and innovative architecture, including Crown Towers Sydney which was completed in 2021. The Sydney Tower Eye has been an integral part of the famous Sydney skyline for the past 30 years. Located 250 metres above
