EAST MEDITERRANEAN VISITING: VALLETTA, SANTORINI, RHODES, KUSADASI, PIRAEUS (TOURS TO ATHENS), VALLETTA
DAY 1 – DEPART FROM MALTA Bid farewell to the beautiful island of Malta as your journey begins! Settle into your comfortable cabin and get acquainted with your ship. DAY 2 - AT SEA Relax, recharge, and enjoy a full day at sea! Take in the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean as you explore the ship’s amenities. Join in on engaging onboard activities, unwind by the pool, or indulge in delicious dining options. Let the gentle waves and fresh sea breeze set the mood for adventure! DAY 3 - SANTORINI, GREECE (PORT OF CALL) When you arrive by sea, there is no confusing the island of Santorini. Dazzling white houses cling to the edge of vertical, rocky cliffs against azure blue waters. The most southern of the Cyclades islands, it is surrounded by Thirasia and Aspronisi, which were once part of a large volcanic island. Considered by many to be the site of the “Lost City of Atlantis”, this magical little island glimmers from the fading sun as many watch its descent from the numerous bars and cafes at the water’s edge. DAY 4 - RHODES, GREECE (PORT OF CALL) You will feel as though you have stepped back in time when you cruise right up to Rhodes’ magnificent walled Old Town - the largest inhabited medieval town in the whole of Europe. This magnificent place has made the island the most popular tourist destination in the Dodecanese. Look beyond the souvenir shops to its fabulous historic buildings, atmospheric cobbled streets
and picturesque terraced restaurants and it is easy to see why. The major sights are easily discovered on foot - visit the 14th century Palace of the Grand Masters and Hospital of the Knights of St John, the pink-domed, 16th century Mosque of Suleyman and the Byzantine Museum, housed in an 11th century church. Make time, too, to browse the Turkish Market on Soukratos Street where you will find a cornucopia of stalls selling rugs, ceramics, jewellery and bric a brac which is great fun if you enjoy a good haggle. DAY 5 - KUSADASI, TURKEY (PORT OF CALL) Kusadasi is a bustling successful port that provides excellent access to the extraordinary remains at Ephesus. In Ephesus, enter the magnificent site of the Ancient City at the Magnesia Gate. Whilst Ephesus is now deserted and in ruins, the past glories come to life as the impressive array of temples, agoras, porticoes and fountains come into view. Of particular interest are the Odeum, the Celsus Library, the temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Great Theatre. Built over a 2nd century tomb believed to hold St. John the Evangelist, St. Johns Basilica was once topped with eleven domes and rivalled Istanbuls St. Sophia Basilica in scale. The church is now in ruins, but there are many frescoes, mosaics and columns that attest to the glory that once marked this holy place. DAY 6 - PIRAEUS, GREECE (PORT OF CALL) Nowhere is this reminder of a glorious past more evident than the
Greek capital Athens. This bustling, cosmopolitan city is served by Piraeus port and is a regular stop-off on many Mediterranean cruises. It’s a vibrant mix of ancient and modern, and you can experience both by walking all or part of the Grand Promenade, a pedestrianised walkway (legacy of the 2004 Olympic Games) that meanders beneath the Acropolis and connects many of the prime archaeological sites that grace central Athens, as well as dipping into upscale shopping destinations (Ermou Street) and trendy districts such as Gazi-Kerameikos. The Acropolis - ‘High City’ - will always be the top attraction from Athens cruise port Piraeus. Don’t miss the Acropolis Museum for some background info, then take the marble path up Filopappou Hill for sweeping views of the ‘high city’ with the iconic Parthenon perched on top. DAY 7 - AT SEA Savour your final day at sea in absolute comfort. Take this time to unwind, revisit your favourite spots on board, or discover something new before the journey ends. Whether it’s a quiet moment by the pool, one last indulgent meal, or laughter with new friends, make every moment count as you cruise toward your final destination. DAY 8 - RETURN TO MALTA As you return to Malta, reflect on an adventure filled with memories and breathtaking moments. From vibrant cities and ancient landmarks to beautiful coastlines and rich cultures, this Mediterranean cruise is one you’ll cherish forever.
