GREEK ISLANDS VISITING: VALLETTA, PIRAEUS (TOURS TO ATHENS), SOUDA BAY (TOURS TO CHANIA), KATAKOLON (TOURS TO OLYMPIA), VALLETTA

DAY 1/2 – DEPART FROM MALTA Bid farewell to the beautiful island of Malta as your journey begins! Settle into your comfortable cabin and get acquainted with your ship. DAY 3 - AT SEA Relax, recharge, and enjoy a full day at sea! Take in the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean as you explore the ship’s amenities. Join in on engaging onboard activities, unwind by the pool, or indulge in delicious dining options. Let the gentle waves and fresh sea breeze set the mood for adventure! DAY 4 - PIRAEUS, GREECE (PORT OF CALL) Nowhere is this reminder of a glorious past more evident than the Greek capital Athens. This bustling, cosmopolitan city is served by Piraeus port and is a regular stop-off on many Mediterranean cruises. It’s a vibrant mix of ancient and modern, and you can experience both by walking all or part of the Grand Promenade, a pedestrianised walkway (legacy of the 2004 Olympic Games) that meanders beneath the Acropolis and connects many of the prime archaeological sites that grace central Athens, as well as dipping into upscale shopping destinations (Ermou Street) and trendy districts such as Gazi-Kerameikos. The Acropolis - ‘High City’ - will always be the top attraction from Athens cruise port Piraeus. Don’t miss the Acropolis Museum for some background info, then take the marble path up Filopappou Hill for sweeping views of the ‘high city’ with the iconic Parthenon perched on top (a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, ROCS MEDITERRANEAN CRUISES 2026 - 2027

DAY 6 - KATAKOLON, GREECE (PORT OF CALL) The small Greek port of Katakolon was developed in the 19th century to serve the thriving local trade in currants. Today it is your starting block for Olympia - birthplace of the Olympic Games. A pretty town on the banks of the River Alpheios, Olympia lies only a short drive away from the port and its historic stadium - where the first Olympic torch was lit in 776 BC and is a fascinating site to explore. You can still see the marble starting blocks used by early athletes in the 45,000-seat arena, as well as the ruins of the Temple of Hera and the gigantic Temple of Zeus - its gold and ivory statue of Zeus was one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. If you have already visited Olympia, you could spend your day exploring the lush wine country north of Katakolon and sampling the local vintages. DAY 7 - AT SEA Savour your final day at sea in absolute comfort. Take this time to unwind, revisit your favourite spots on board, or discover something new before the journey ends. Whether it’s a quiet moment by the pool, one last indulgent meal, or laughter with new friends, make every moment count as you cruise toward your final destination. DAY 8 - RETURN TO MALTA As you return to Malta, reflect on an adventure filled with memories and breathtaking moments. From vibrant cities and ancient landmarks to beautiful coastlines and rich cultures, this Mediterranean cruise is one you’ll cherish forever.

patron of the city)

With its2,500-year-old Parthenon, temple to Poseidon and Athena, Odeon of Herodes Atticus and Theatre of Dionysus, it quite literally stands out as an oasis of calm in the frenetic Greek capital. As part of the major revamp the city had for the 2004 Olympics, 400 modern buildings were cleared from the ancient meeting place next to the Acropolis, the Agora, which was then restored and linked by walkways to the Acropolis, Hadrians Arch, the Academy of Plato and the Monastery of Daphne. DAY 5 - SOUDA BAY, GREECE (PORT OF CALL) Relaxation is easy in Souda Bay, a horseshoe of pristine sand and sparkling sea, sheltered by hills. But its military background means peace hasn’t always been so forthcoming. There’s reminders of World War action at the cemetery; and across the bay the fortressed Island of Souda was once a battleground between the Greeks and the Ottomans. But if you cannot imagine such bloodied action, perhaps you can picture Roger Moore’s high speed boat chase in For Your Eyes Only, which was filmed on location here. West of Souda is the charming old Venetian town Chania - or Hania if you prefer. Cobbled streets lined with colourful Venetian townhouses zigzag downward toward the harbour, which has a touch of Florence or Venice about it. Browse a mix of museums, churches and crafts en route, then walk the harbour wall to the oldest lighthouse in the world. End your day with a raki in a waterside cafe.
