Begin the day with a visit to the top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge before crashing down with incredible power. Enjoy a short game drive en route, with opportunities to spot wildlife as the park awakens. Afterward, embark on a scenic transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. The journey leads you across the dramatic Albertine Escarpment, part of the western arm of the Great East African Rift Valley. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views, traditional homesteads, and breathtaking vistas of the legendary Mountains of the Moon (Rwenzori Range). Arrive at Kibale Forest in the evening, just in time for dinner and overnight. Kibale Forest is a magnificent tropical jungle and is renowned as the Primate Capital of the World. It is home to 13 species of primates, including chimpanzees, olive baboons, black-and-white colobus, red colobus, grey‑cheeked mangabey, and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. DAY 6 QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Today, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most iconic and wildlife rich destinations. On the way, we cross the Equator, a great spot for photos and a chance to stand in both hemispheres at once. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that links Lake Edward and Lake George. This two hour cruise offers exceptional wildlife viewing, bringing you close to large pods of hippos, basking crocodiles, elephants along the shoreline, and an impressive array of birdlife. After the boat trip, enjoy a game drive on the way back to the lodge, giving you even more opportunities to spot wildlife during the golden hours of the day. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best places in Uganda to see lions, and you can also expect frequent sightings of elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and— with a bit of luck—leopards. The Kazinga Channel is widely regarded as one of Uganda’s top highlights and is famous for having the highest concentration of hippos anywhere in Africa, making this cruise an unforgettable experience. Dinner and lodging at Kasenyi Safari Camp or similar.
